This wonderful message from The Oracle on the Mayan 2012 prophecies took place in a sacred vortex located on the beautiful ranch of Fernando and Lisa Leon in the State of Jalisco, Mexico. The message was impromptu, prompted by the powerful, healing energies of the power spot.

The energy of the place contained a blueprint to bring one back to their essence, their authenticity. This is very powerful for healing, and at the same time very apropos to the energies that are rapidly increasing as we approach the year 2012, and the 2012 prediction, called the end of time in the Mayan Calendar.

The Oracle often speaks about 2012, the Sixth Sun and its significance, not in as a doomsday, but as a time for humanity to return to their Divinity, their Authenticity.

Kalyn and I just returned to San Miguel de Allende, from an amazing adventure to some magical Toltec and Mayan Pyramids in the Western Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.

There are so many different Sacred Sites in Mexico, hundreds of pyramids. Many people don’t know that Teotihuacan is the 3rd largest pyramid in the world.

The thing about these pyramids is that they are laid out to accelerate ones transformation. They are extremely powerful.

Do you know what the Fifth Agreement is?

Here is a great video on this powerful tool from best selling author of The Four Agreements, don Miguel Ruiz.

As students of don Miguel’s, Kris and I used to listen to him tell us all “don’t believe me, don’t believe anyone else and don’t believe your self”.  These powerful words have now become The Fifth Agreement.

There are many aspects to the present agreement, however don Miguel primarily meant that we have a tendency to shouldn’t hold beliefs as a result of they’ll be limiting.

One important purpose concerning beliefs is that they’re not the same as we actually know. In other words, we would like to differentiate between what we tend to believe and what we have a tendency to know.

Once we know something, it isn’t a matter of information it is a matter of experience.

Knowing something does not come from using our mind to figure things out, or our minds. It is not taking in information or even observing something, the way beliefs do. Knowingness instead comes from our experience.

You can only truly know your Dinity and your Golden Flow™ through experience. You may recall an experience similar to your first seeing snow or experiencing nature. For some people this can be a Divine and spiritual experience.

This is often as a result of they are in that place of knowingness, versus knowledge, beliefs or ideas. Be bound to allow yourself masses of experiences, permitting yourself to know. — This is because they are in that place of knowingness, as opposed to knowledge, beliefs or ideas. Be certain to allow yourself plenty of experiences, allowing yourself to know. –

Begin to make a distinction between what you believe and what you know. Questioning our own beliefs, opinions and ideas about how things are can help you take down your limited ways which automatically abide by the rules. You can then allow yourself to connect with what you know, follow this and transform your life in your Golden Flow™.

don Miguel Marries K2 at Teotihuacan

I first met don Miguel Ruiz, bestselling author of the Four Agreements and The Fifth Agreement, in the late 90’s. I had been walking the Toltec Path for some time. In 1995 I created one of the first Forums on the internet dedicated to Toltec wisdom called The Toltec Nagual.

One day I was browsing the classified ads in a local Los Angeles new age newspaper. A little ad caught my eye with the words, ‘join don Miguel Ruiz, a Toltec Nagual and learn about Toltec Wisdom’. I asked my wife Kalyn if she would like to go, and off we went.

The time spent with don Miguel was always very personal and inspiring. He would visit private homes in Los Angeles and in San Diego where he lived, and talk about things Toltec. This was before he was a well known author. He was always open, warm and exuded love. During his talks he would often say, “Don’t believe me, don’t believe anyone else, don’t believe yourself.” They were powerful words, which don Miguel has now labeled in his new book, The Fifth Agreement.

Eliminating belief systems are one of the core teachings of the Toltec Path. Whenever you have a belief, you no longer perceive what is. You see only what Toltecs call, the smoky mirror. You see the world through colored glasses. For example, in Japan they have the number four symbolizes death. The word ‘shi’, which means four in Japanese sounds like the word death, ‘shinu’ in Japanese. Due to this belief, they eliminate the fourth floor in their buildings. Correspondingly, the number 13 is often considered unlucky in western cultures, and the 13th floor is sometimes eliminated from buildings. Depending on their beliefs, each culture perceives things differently.

Another quick example – in the west, suicide is thought to have dire consequences in the afterlife. This is due to the prevalence of Christian beliefs about heaven and hell. In Japan, on the other hand, the Samurai considered suicide as honorable. If defeated, a warrior considered it an honor to be able to commit suicide. To this day, suicide is perceived very differently in Japan than it is in the West.

Why is this important on a spiritual path? It is important because in order to see the truth, to see reality clearly and unbiased, one must be free of belief systems. In order to grow and evolve, one must change the way they see themselves and the world. Toltecs call belief systems inventory. In order to perceive reality and beyond into what Toltecs call the second attention, the world of energy, they strive to eliminate all inventory. This is much like seeing the world through the eyes of a child, or what Buddhists call ‘The Beginners Mind’.

It is easy to see how things like racial prejudice and discrimination are often based on belief systems. If one believes that a race of people are inferior, they will actually see things that validate their beliefs. They see the world through lenses colored by their beliefs.

One of Don Miguel Ruiz’s dreams is to transform the world to a better place. To do so we must first transform our personal dreams. We must become clear, free from old knowledge and beliefs that bind us. This is the power of the Fifth Agreement.

Living in The Now is one of the most powerful ways to enter the Flow State – a State where entering the Second Attention comes naturally. You want to live in the now, but often this state of living in the now seems elusive and difficult to maintain. So how do you live in the now? Here I want to give you the first simple, yet powerful technique.

Living in the now moment is an essential ingredient for living in the Flow. Living in the Flow has many benefits. When in the Flow State, you worry less and therefore have less stress. Living stress free has numerous physical benefits such as increased immune function and lower blood pressure, which can lead to reduced heart disease. When living in the Flow, people also enjoy numerous psychological benefits such as feeling more secure, and happy. People in the Flow have an exuberance about life that is contagious. When you are in the Flow you have a greater capacity to cope and to deal with whatever life brings you. Living in the Flow is often accompanied by a wonderful state of well being.

There is a simple technique for living in the now moment that is conducive to the Flow State. This technique helps eliminate two of the biggest causes of being out of The Flow – ruminating about the past, and worrying about the future.

Negative or painful emotions such as being sad, angry, or depressed knock you out of the Flow State. These emotions such as chronic anger, for example, are often brought on by continually regurgitating something that happened to you in the past. This isn’t to say you should never get angry. There is a place for anger. However, authentic anger, like most authentic feelings pass through you. You get angry in the moment, and then it passes. However, when you begin to recall other times you were angry, or people who made you anger, then the anger builds and you become consumed by it. When in the now moment, you are no longer focused on the past and emotional charges no longer have a hold over you.

Worrying about the future, or having fear about what will happen or won’t happen also puts you out of the Flow. Chronic anxiety is caused by the constant worrying about what will happen to you. For many, such future tripping is the norm. They are constantly playing out what if scenarios in their head, ‘what if he rejects me,’ what if she says no,’ ‘what if I don’t have enough money,’ and so on. Here too, when you return to the now moment by focusing on the now moment instead of projecting into the future, you eliminate the worry, fear and anxiety that comes from being over preoccupied with the future.

It is easy to see how constantly churning past memories or habitually projecting what you think might happen or might not happen in the future, puts you out of the Flow, leading to a pretty miserable life. Instead of focusing on the past or future, if you focus on the now moment it easy to see how you can free yourself from negative emotions and worry. So how do you remain focused on the now moment?

There are several good techniques for this. However, they all basically come down awareness and your minds ability to focus on only one thing at once. Have you ever tried to listen to someone in the room talking to you while at the same time carry on a conversation on the phone? It is very difficult. The mind has difficulty splitting its attention on more than one thing at the same time, especially for extended periods of time. This is actually a good thing when it comes to living in the now.

Living in the now is no longer a new age spiritual or metaphysical concept. Recently, psychology has looked at the benefits of the Flow State and living in the now. They have come up with effective techniques to do so. One such technique is called ‘savoring’. When you savor a delicious bite of your favorite food, done to perfection, where is your focus? Are you ruminating about something someone did to you in the past? Are you worrying about what is going to happen at tomorrow’s dentist appointment? No, your awareness is focused on that wonderful lump of food in your mouth. You are focused right here, right now, in that beautiful now moment. You have just entered the State of Flow where life is good and you are full of well being.

As you go about your day, savor. Welcome whatever is in your now moment with unhurried appreciation. Savor the fresh air, the beautiful clouds, the life force coursing through your body…there is always something you can find to savor in any given moment.

Every year the Oracle speaks about energies for the New Year. In this message, recorded in San Miguel de Allende, the Oracle gives uplifting guidance.

This is a year of clearing out old energies that hinder Source energy to come through. It is a year of clearing. Whenever there is a clearing, changes take place. These changes may appear to be dark spots. Some may be tumultuous.

This is because, as we near 2012 higher energies are coming in. When this happens they jolt the lower vibrations, causing earth changes and changes in the fabric of society and human consciousness. Do not fear it. It is a calling to you to recognize what is real in Self.

This is a year to focus on and cherish what is real and authentic to you. As you are in a place of loving Self, and feeling the love of Source, the more you will flow with the changes that come.

For many, last year was a year where your desires became more pronounced. They became very fruitful, like a good wine. This year is a year for manifesting and receiving your desires. It is a year for growing and nourishing your desires. All you need to do is allow them to flourish.

Enjoy your life. Value what you have. Continue to move toward your Authenticity.

As you continue to let it expand and unfold, the world changes will impact you less, and you will truly experience the birthing of a wonderful new age.

Yesterday, while sitting in the courtyard of ‘The Library’ in the beautiful colonial town of San Miguel de Allende, sipping rich Mexican coffee with the sound of the fountain in the background, Kalyn and I decided to share our Dream with you. We are living our Dream of spending a good part of each year living in different exotic and spiritually enhancing places on this exquisite planet.

Kalyn and I have been walking our paths and guiding others for over 10 years now. We know what works and what doesn’t. We live our lives in Authentic Abundance, where the universe always provides us what we need to fulfill our desires. We have a beautiful home in Santa Fe, New Mexico with lots of land and enough space to enable us to have some of our inner circle live with us.

After working as a business executive most my adult life, I no longer have a day job. I work more than I have ever worked, but the work is my passion. I do what I love – write, teach, take groups of people to Sacred Sites around the world. Kalyn and I just enrolled our 4 year old daughter in a wonderful bi-lingual school that is based on the heart. She comes home happy, bubbling over with joy with the wonderful new things she has learned.

I could go on forever writing about how the Universe provides for us, our wonderful relationship and all the love, abundance and spiritual connection in our lives. But, what we really want to do is to share with you how it is possible for you too to live the life of your dreams.

Who is Happier, a Lotto winner or a Paraplegic?

According to Harvard Psychologist, Dan Gilbert who cites scientific data, after a year lotto winners and paraplegics are equally happy with their lives. Dan Gilbert is the author of the book Stumbling on Happiness.

Toltecs have known for centuries that experience follows perception, and you have control over how you perceive life (through tools such as recapitulation). You can either perceive life in a positive way or a negative way. If you perceive a problem as a challenge that will empower you and help you grow, it will do just that – benefit you. How you perceive life around you is your choice.

In the video below, Gilbert talks about how Homo Sapiens possess a Frontal lobe or Prefrontal Cortex. This amazing aparatus is an experience simulator. Human Sapiens can simulate experience before it happens. This is something that neither ancient man/woman (Homo Habilis (2,000,000 years B.C) or animals can do (ancient man/woman didn’t have a Prefrontal Cortex).

In his labs Gilbert has found that our experience simulator doesn’t always work as well as it should. He calls this phenomenon, Impact Bias. The experience simulator tends to cause us to believe that different outcomes are more different than they really are.  Things like winning or losing, gaining or losing a romantic partner, money and so on, have far less impact, intensity and duration than people expect them to have. Gilbert cites a recent study of how major life traumas affect people suggest that, if it happened over three months ago, with only a few exceptions, it has no impact whatsoever on your happiness.

Why is this so? According to Gilbert it is because happiness can be synthesized by your prefrontal lobe. The problem is that you have the ability to synthesize happiness, but you don’t use your ability. You have beliefs that stand in your way such as the belief that happiness is something to be found. You have the belief that synthetic happiness is not of the same quality as what Gilbert calls natural happiness.
Gilbert says natural happiness is when we get when we get what we wanted. Synthetic happiness is what you make when you don’t get what you wanted. Particularly in Western Society we have a strong belief that synthetic happiness is inferior to natural happiness. Gilbert says that one of the reasons for this is that our whole economic engine is built on the principle that you must get what you want to be happy, that a shopping mall full of Zen monks isn’t going to be profitable because they don’t want stuff.

Toltecs know that it is all about how you perceive things. A man compliments a woman on her hair, for example. It makes one woman happy as she perceives what he said as a compliment. Another woman, who grew up with her brothers teasing her about her hair and has an emotional charge about it, will perceive what the man says totally different than the first woman. Due to, what Toltecs call one’s inventory, in this case emotional charges from her past that are stimulated by the man’s words, she will have a negative experience. His words will make her unhappy. The experience simulator is not working properly.

In the following video, Gilbert goes on to prove scientifically that what he calls synthetic happiness is every bit as real and enduring as the kind of happiness you stumble upon when you get exactly what you are aiming for. It is a very interesting experiment.

From a Toltec or Metaphysical viewpoint, I would go beyond what Gilbert shows in his talk, that what he calls synthetic happiness is actually true happiness as it is not dependent on what happens to us in our lives. What Gilbert calls natural happiness is fleeting as when we don’t get what we want, or lose what we had, we are unhappy. It is a powerless type of happiness because we are 100% dependent on our external world.

Our ability to create happiness actually has a physical counterpart in our brain, the frontal lobe or prefrontal cortex. How well this experience simulator operates, depends upon our perception, which depends on how well we have cleaned, cleared and healed our inventory.

Knowing this, we can no longer blame people, events or situations outside of us for making us unhappy. Only we can make ourselves happy by using the faculties we all possess.

Now you know that you have everything you need to be happy inside of you. Unless you are a Homo Habilis (an ancient man/woman), and don’t have a Pre Frontal Cortex, you have everything you need to be happy right inside your brain. All you need are the tools to return it to a fine running machine. The Toltec Path provides these tools.

The importance of personal power is often misunderstood or undervalued on a spiritual path. Toltec Wisdom acknowledges this and much emphasis is placed upon ‘stalking power’. It is not an exaggeration to say that much of the suffering and difficulties people have in life is directly due to a lack of personal power.

One common misperception people have is that power means that a person will harm others or be used for no good. It is true that power can corrupt when used by the ego, or what Toltecs call ‘human form’. Here I am defining ego as that which promotes separateness from others and exclusiveness, instead of connectedness and inclusiveness. However, the same thing is true with many things in life. Money, for example, can be used for good, altruistic purposes, or for not so good things. Both money and power have been abused throughout history.
However, just because something can be used for both positive and negative things, you don’t want to throw the baby out with the bath water. A man or woman of power has the ability to benefit the world and other humans. A person with little power will not have the same ability. The same is true for benefiting oneself.

Human beings have the capability to manifest and create their reality, for example. Many speak of using laws like the Law of Attraction to manifest what one desires. While this law is true, without personal power one’s ability to manifest will be limited. A man or woman of power is able to create a life full of love and abundance for themselves, and their family. Many times the reason why a person suffers lack is because they lack personal power.

It is often said that a spiritual path is the most difficult thing you will ever do. Because of this it takes an incredible amount of personal power to walk it. Whether it is in your spiritual pursuits or in living a fulfilling life full of love and abundance, the more empowerment you have, the greater will your capability to achieve what you desire.
